Sesame Street Safari of Fun

Busch Gardens, which is about 30 minutes from where we live, is opening a new area of the park called Sesame Street Place. We went for a preview night on Thursday. Notice how the Count says the park doesn't open for two days: We got to see it before anyone else!! Our friend Donna works for the park and brought us with her on friends and family preview night. It was so awesome. There were no lines, so Micah got to stay longer on each ride than he normally would. First up, of course, was the cars. I think he enjoyed being able to ride in one by himself. And he's off! Next was the water ride - a mini-LogJammer, for those of you to whom that means anything. He just made the height requirement. Gearing up for the big down hill slide! The video of it is pretty cute too. Bouncy areas are always a good time. Riding with daddy on a neat and different merry-go-round. Daddy and Micah also went on a Big Bird ride where they got to ride in eggs that went around like a Ferris Wheel. Every time I tell Micah to smile and he doesn't, I tell him to show me his teeth. He loves to do that and most of the time it turns out to be a nice smile. This time, it turned into sticking his tongue out. Waving to me from the swings. Such a big boy to be able to do it by himself...and not be terrified! In fact, he really enjoyed it. The whole family posed with Bert and Ernie. Notice how Tim and I are diligently looking at the camera, and the boys are too enthralled with their new friends to even think about taking their eyes off of them. As part of our evening, we also got a free dinner of yummy hot dogs, and a free character picture. Look who we met!! It's actually a nice professional portrait that I scanned into our computer. Big Bird was really sweet to the boys, letting them touch his beak and give him knuckles. The background was actually a green screen and we got to choose what we wanted. I just had to choose the iconic door. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have the actual set there, but at least we can feel like we were there. By the way, we left right after this picture was taken. Can you tell how tired the boys were? Thanks, Donna, for this incredible opportunity!!
