Happy Halloween!

Here is our little lion at daycare this morning! Being a lion must have been a popular choice among one-year-olds this year because three of the seven children in the class were lions! The other two were dressed in the same costume, but Micah's was different - and much cuter if I do say so myself. Garage sales are great places to find Halloween costumes that are only worn for 20 minutes! In this picture, Micah's sitting in his seat (look how they had to stretch the strap to get it around his fake belly!) waiting for his morning snack.I know it's kind of out of order, but here's a shot at home before we left for daycare. Check out the tail! Here's the kids that were in his class today, all patiently waiting for their snacks before walking around the center for the Halloween parade.Lion Micah walking the parade route with his teacher, Miss Margarita. Unfortunately, we had to take his little lion feet off and let him walk in sandals because the bottoms of the lion feet were too slippery for the floor. After the parade, Micah gets back to some serious playing! Here are some random shots from the past week that I didn't have time to put up during the week. A new thing for Micah is brushing his teeth. He actually likes it. He doesn't actually brush - it's more like sucking on the toothbrush. But everyone has to start somewhere. We went to the pumpkin patch at St. Andrew's again this year to pick out our family pumpkin. The patch is fenced in, but sits right on a major road. Micah's thing lately is cars - not necessarily to play with, but he loves to watch them. It was difficult to get a straight-on shot of him because all he wanted to do was look at the traffic! I wanted to do a little comparison shot. Here's Micah in the patch this year... ...and here he is at roughly the same time last year. Pretty crazy, huh? He's such a big little guy! Grandma and Grandpa Williams sent Micah a very cute Halloween shirt that lit up whenever he moved. Micah enjoyed it, but it was difficult to catch it lighting up on camera. The ghost on his shirt was what lit up in red. We also liked it because it says, "Boo" on it, which the nickname that Tim and I call him.

Mr. Tim Goes to the World Series

Tim, here. I'm blogging about something other than Micah today, though not as wonderful and not as meaningful. However, I had a chance to attend Game #2 of the World Series to watch my Phillies phall to the Tampa Bay Rays. Need more cowbell? I think not. There were many Phillies phans there as well, and we were all disappointed as our team phailed to score runs, despite many opportunities. I will give much credit to the opposing pitcher, James Shields, who had the batters baffeled all night long. They were obviously not seeing the ball very well--many called strikeouts and many swings and misses on off-speed pitches. The Rays, for their part, didn't hit much either and after a wobbly first two innings, Bret Myers pitched quite well the rest of the way. It was a wonderful experience to be there and to feel a part of the biggest baseball event of the year. The first pitch of Game #2.
Here I am, a tad irritated with the game thus far, not to mention the ringing in my ears. Los Lonely Boys sang the National Anthem. There were from (of course). . . Texas. John Kruk and Steve Phillips from "Baseball Tonight" on ESPN. The Fox Sports anchors along with the World Series trophy. This is actually a picture of the Big Screen Television from way across the field. Our camera has nice zoom, plus it's a really nice display.

Another new territory

Micah learned another new trick recently - breaking into Heinz's cage. He has figured out how to unlock it and loves crawling in and shaking the cage.We hope this isn't a vision of his future. :)

Hilton Head, Part III

Tim and I took a walk with Micah on Friday and we took him to see the birds on this little sandbar. They were just hanging out, sunning themselves. Micah became fascinated with his shadow so he and Mommy spent a little time studying theirs. Micah really wanted to play with the birds. Unfortunately, the feeling was not mutual. He's pretty tenacious and kept approaching them until they all flew away. Notice the wet pants. It's really hard to keep your balance on uneven sand when you're learning to walk. It's even harder to understand that you can't move your feet when they sink in the wet sand. On our last night, we went out to the yummy Bonefish Grill for dinner, which is one of Tim's and my favorite restaurants. The high chair they gave us for Micah was so low that I had to take a picture from of him from his perspective. By the way, he ate a lot at this meal as well. A lot. I took this picture of everyone at the restaurant. Apparently, I had my thumb over the flash, which explains why my mother is shrouded in darkness. But what I thought was funny about this picture was that Micah turned around like a seasoned pro and posed for the picture! A family portrait outside of the restaurant - before Cold Stone, where Micah managed to eat more food. We loved our vacation and despite the amount of pictures, it just wasn't long enough. Thanks, Williamses!

Hilton Head, Part II

There were so many good pictures that we took on the trip that I actually have one more part after this one. So here's part II. Micah and Grandpa took a little stroll at the end of a dinner that we had at a British pub. After Micah inhaled enough food for a child twice his age, he decided that he wanted to walk it off. Grandpa went with him and Tim took a couple of pictures. We love the "socks" that Grandpa is wearing. (Really, it's his great tan line...)The skies in South Carolina are almost as pretty as the ones in Florida. I took this picture of the lighthouse and the one above of the boat at Harbourtown, which is at one end of the island. It was a nice little town full of shops... ...and really big yachts. REALLY big yachts.Even though we couldn't afford the real estate, we enjoyed the free view of the moon and our camera took a good picture of it.Micah and Daddy on the beach at Harbourtown. Uncle Ryan with Micah, who really wanted to just walk around. He worked on that with Grandma. We discovered during this trip that Micah loves steps. It makes sense because they're such a novelty to him. We have very few in Florida so he had fun going up and down and up and down and up and down. A family portrait minus Mommy and Daddy. Micah's actually sort of smiling! GO PHILS!!!!! We were glad that Micah's Phillies outfit still fit so that he could join Daddy in cheering on the team!

Hilton Head, Part I

We spent the past week relaxing in Hilton Head. While we were really grateful for the time, we're already lamenting that it's over! We had a lot of fun, and noticed a big change in Micah this week, which is that his drive to walk now outweighs his drive to crawl. So he's going everywhere on two feet. Here are some pictures from our trip. I'll post more later, but enjoy for now. This is Uncle Ryan holding Micah while he watches Praise Baby. We couldn't NOT take the DVDs with us! Exploring one of those fountains that sporadically changes the height of the water. Micah didn't get it at first, and here is the water going up his swimsuit. Then he started to enjoy it. Splashing Daddy! And posing for a great picture! Walking on the beach with Grandma Williams. Micah wasn't crazy about the temperature of the water. He's a gulf coast kind of guy, much preferring the warmth of our coast or at least the heated pool at the resort. We got him his own little raft so that he could float around the pool free from being held and he seemed to really enjoy it - although this picture doesn't communicate that!
