48 Weeks!
This week, Micah dressed as a Pirates fan in hopes that he could inspire the team from afar to win. I have no idea what their record is, but we're still proud to be fans of anything related to Pittsburgh.
Just a couple of shots I took yesterday morning as Micah and his daddy played. Micah just can't get enough of that laundry basket. Tim dragged him around for a little while. Clearly they both enjoyed it!
Ready to go!

47 weeks and a big...well, week
I have to confess - we cheated this week. We just took Micah's 47 week picture today instead of Friday. I know, I know. We're such slackers. Actually, we remembered, but we were in Pittsburgh and didn't have the sign. Yesterday was a blur of flying and getting ready for Sunday, but today, after his nap, we snapped this picture of a smiley 47-week-old boy. Don't you just love the Heinz ketchup shirt that his cousins got him for Christmas?
We spent a couple of days last week in Philadelphia celebrating the life of Tim's Grandma Black. Below is a collage of a lot of different pictures from her life, of the people that were important to her. The service was a moving testament to a life well lived. We're so glad that we were able to be there to remember her.
This is Tim with four of his cousins. There was talk of photoshopping in both Tom and Matt, who were missing, but since I can't do that this picture will have to do! Tim hadn't seen his cousins in a long time, and I was meeting most of them for the first time. They're all wonderful people, really sweet and welcoming. Getting to meet them was a highlight of the trip.
This is all of us - the cousins and their families, minus one spouse and a set of children. It's crazy how families multiply!
Before we left, I got Micah some "biter biscuits", which supposedly teach him how to bite and chew. Really I think that the only thing they teach him is how to make a mess. The things turned into complete mush and I'm not sure that Micah digested any of the one he had.
This is what happens after you eat a biter biscuit. :)
While we were in Pittsburgh, it was Grandma Williams's birthday. Happy Birthday!
This is the cake that Grandpa Williams got for Grandma. We all got a kick out of what was written on it, and we suspect that the employees of the bakery from which it came are still giggling about it today. It seems that Grandma is the "swinger" of Hiddenbrook, according to Grandpa. We learned that he meant it as a golf term (hence the decorations on the cake), but we had great fun with the alternative meaning.
Micah got a new pair of shoes while we were up north. Although I feel like it's much easier for him to learn to walk without shoes, it's a little disconcerting when you see how dirty your son's feet can become through the course of the day when he doesn't ever wear shoes. So here's Micah trying to take some steps. It didn't go so well, but we'll keep working on it.
Micah and Mommy celebrating his new shoes.
Uncle Ryan and Aunt Deci got a great present while we were there. Their Steelers season tickets arrived in the mail!! Here Uncle Ryan poses proudly with the tickets. Maybe he'll take Micah to a game one day!

46 weeks!
So I accidentally deleted the better picture for this week, but Micah's still looking cute in this one. He's wearing the great Chewbacca t-shirt that our friends Dan and Martina got for him. It brought us a little bit of joy in the middle of a tough week. Tim's Grandma Black passed away earlier this week. She was always fun for us to visit, and we know that she will be greatly missed. We're glad that she got a chance to meet Micah at Christmas when we visited.

45 Weeks on the Fourth of July
Here he is, Micah in his patriotic colors (well, the shirt anyway) on the Fourth of July. He's sitting so still this week because he's intently studying the toy that we got his friend Lloyd for Lloyd's birthday. Maybe it's going to come to us needing to get a new toy every week so that he'll sit still enough so that we can take the picture!
Micah is really into his solid foods now. He eats dinner with us and eats (basically) what we eat. Today at Lloyd's birthday party, he ate hamburger, salad, fruit, and veggies. The only trick is that he has no interest in feeding himself yet, unless it's his bottle - that he doesn't want you to touch and he'll do it all by himself. There really isn't anything so far that he won't eat. While we don't expect that to always be the case, we figure it's a promising start.
This is Micah's friend Lloyd. It's great to have a birthday on the Fourth of July - easy decorations! Lloyd didn't want to wait for the cake and looks like he's going to eat his hat in this picture. :)
Lloyd's first birthday party was a pool party. We have to be careful about his ears, but with Tim constantly with him, we let Micah go in the pool. I put some sunscreen on his head and his hair did some interesting things.
This was the float that Micah used part of the time that he was in the water. It did a great job at keeping him afloat while also protecting his ears. We'll have to get one of these when we go to Hilton Head in the fall.
