45 Weeks on the Fourth of July

Here he is, Micah in his patriotic colors (well, the shirt anyway) on the Fourth of July. He's sitting so still this week because he's intently studying the toy that we got his friend Lloyd for Lloyd's birthday. Maybe it's going to come to us needing to get a new toy every week so that he'll sit still enough so that we can take the picture! Micah is really into his solid foods now. He eats dinner with us and eats (basically) what we eat. Today at Lloyd's birthday party, he ate hamburger, salad, fruit, and veggies. The only trick is that he has no interest in feeding himself yet, unless it's his bottle - that he doesn't want you to touch and he'll do it all by himself. There really isn't anything so far that he won't eat. While we don't expect that to always be the case, we figure it's a promising start. This is Micah's friend Lloyd. It's great to have a birthday on the Fourth of July - easy decorations! Lloyd didn't want to wait for the cake and looks like he's going to eat his hat in this picture. :) Lloyd's first birthday party was a pool party. We have to be careful about his ears, but with Tim constantly with him, we let Micah go in the pool. I put some sunscreen on his head and his hair did some interesting things. This was the float that Micah used part of the time that he was in the water. It did a great job at keeping him afloat while also protecting his ears. We'll have to get one of these when we go to Hilton Head in the fall.
