Micah in a big boy bed!
In preparation for the new baby (arriving in 11 days - but who's counting?), we needed to get Micah into his big boy bed. We don't have a bassinet and we're big fans of the baby sleeping in his crib beginning the night that he comes home. So Micah had to move out. I was concerned about how long it would take him to get adjusted to his new sleeping environment. As it turns out, not long at all. That first night, which was Friday, it probably took him about an hour to fall asleep, but that's about how long he would stay awake in his crib. He read his books in bed (just like his mom!), talked to his stuffed animals, and gradually drifted off to sleep. He did open his door a few times, but he never came out and he never cried. He has since discovered that he can open the drawers of his dresser and likes taking out his clothes, but if that's the worst we have to deal with, we'll consider ourselves very lucky! Here's the best shot I could get without using the flash.
To tire him out on Friday, and give me a chance to work on a presentation that I was giving at a Mother's Day Luncheon yesterday, Tim took Micah out and about for the day. Here he is at Tom Sawyer island at the Magic Kingdom. He's getting so big and independent.
Finally, a couple of fun shots I took of him snacking on cheerios. We have taken the high chair away and have him sitting on a booster chair at the table, which saves space. He seems to enjoy it, as you can tell!
It's hard to smile AND eat, but he gives it a good try!
