College Degree?

This morning I saw a headline on a news article that asked, "What did you major in during college?" I didn't read the article so I have no idea what the author's point was in asking the question. But it got me thinking. I have a degree in Public Relations from Westminster College. Because, at the time, it was an interdisciplinary major at my college, I had to study subjects from a lot of different majors to earn my degree. And I only work ten hours a week in a "job job" now, which means that my real "job" is my kids, and making sure they're raised right. I still can't help but ask myself, as most people with a college degree do at some point, am I using anything that I learned in school? Let's see...how would you grade me now? I studied crisis management. I learned about the power of advertising. I studied English so I would know how to properly communicate with people. I studied media relations and how to use the power of the media to your advantage. (No picture. But if you're reading this blog, you know I'm doing alright in this area.) I learned how to critique films. I took Journalism, so I could learn what a good news story is. So what do you think - am I putting my degree to good use?
