Perspective for the rough times
I've had a rough couple of days with the boys. Nothing huge, but lots of tantrums by Micah and lots of fussiness by Liam, who shall henceforth be known only by their respective Indian names of "No Naps" and "Diaper Rash, Heal Thyself". Add that to the practically unbearable heat that's stifled any kind of outdoor playtime and a potty-training almost-three-year-old who refuses to tell me that he actually has to go to the bathroom, and you get the idea.
But then I saw this article.
And I stumbled upon this blog.
And my heart broke. Because while I refuse to trivialize the very real daily struggles that come with the job of full-time stay-at-home Mom, I also, like most people I suppose, tend to lose perspective of how good I really have it.
My children are healthy.
They are happy.

They can do regular, everyday things without any planning or much concern on my part for their physical well-being.

And every night, I get to hold the hand of a great and partner while I drift off to sleep, thankful for my house of boys.
Really, I have it good. And my prayers tonight are for those who struggle with more than I can even wrap my mind around. May they feel comfort and peace as they too drift to sleep tonight.
