California Vacation, Part I

We spent last week in California visiting Tim's parents. The trip went very well, even with the time difference. Of course, Liam didn't know there was one so he was asleep by 4:00 each afternoon and awake at 4:00 each morning. That just meant we didn't adjust either, which made the return easier. And all of that was worth getting to visit the Black grandparents on their side of the country. We arrived on Monday night, and went to see the Redwoods on Tuesday afternoon. The weather was wonderful, perfect to snuggle up in some warmer clothes and yet still warm enough for the boys to play outside. Here they are in their new (used) sit-n-stand stroller, which is perfect for Micah to be able to hop in and out of at will. Plus, we can strap him in when we don't want him to be able to exercise his will. :) Micah got to stand inside a tree! Judging from the look on his face in this picture, he had a hard time understanding that. Can you tell how much fun he was having? It's a little blurry, but three generations of Black guys stroll the path through the trees. And here they are hanging out on a bench. A little perspective. Halfway through our walk, we decided that, although he was content to just ride along, we should take Liam out of his strolling and get some photographic proof that he was with us! So here are Daddy and Liam in front of a tree. And another one of him, although he's hanging out in the stroller in this one. Micah and Grandma hanging out in the tree! Little boys love to climb. I already knew that from our many visits to playgrounds, but there's nothing like climbing in the playground of the Redwoods!
