Last day of school

We made it!  Kindergarten is history for Micah!  A look back to how he started the year...
...and how he finished it.  His hair is a little longer and he's a little taller (check out where the shorts hit him on his leg in the first picture vs. the second one), but he's still smiling.  He was excited to go to school almost every day this year, and loved his teacher, Mrs. Davis.
During the year, Micah rode a bus for the first time (a dream come true!!), learned to read, improved significantly with his writing, started to learn math, worked on his self-control, and became a big, independent, school-aged boy.  We are so proud of all that he accomplished this year and know that he is ready to tackle first grade head on!!
Liam finished Preschool 3!  A look back at how he started the year...
...and how he finished it.  He is also taller.  We know this not from the picture (I really do have to get better with my perspective when I take pictures!), but because he's now able to ride Thunder Mountain Railroad at the Magic Kingdom and he wasn't at the beginning of the year!  His smile is just as bright.  Liam adored his teachers - Ms. Deenna, Ms. Cynthia, Ms. Deidre, and Ms. Brenda.  He was quite the ladies' man, especially in his MWF class where he was literally the only boy in a class with ten kids.  Nine girls and my little guy.  He held his own.
His teachers say that he is just one of those kids who is a complete joy to teach, and we are so proud of how far he came this year.  He writes his name, he is so incredibly articulate, and watch out - this kid can dance.  I have no idea where he got that from.  We are so proud of the boy he is and the boy he is rapidly growing up to be.
A wise person once said that the days go slow and the years go fast.  In a year filled with so much waiting with regards to our adoption, the days certainly did seem to drag by at times.  But then we look at these pictures and realize just how fast time really does fly.
Our boys will not be little forever.
They will not be crazy energetic forever.
They won't be content to play trucks forever.
They won't be this excited about school forever.
But we have this moment today to cherish them and to celebrate their remarkable accomplishments this year.  And so we will.  Happy end of the school year, Micah and Liam.  May your summer be filled with bright smiles, fun times, and lots of ice cream!!

If the boy can dance, and likes it. Ms. Judy at Judy's Dance Academy is awesome. Ben loves her.
