Weekend Work

We spent a little time in the yard this weekend.  We found ourselves with virtually nothing (outside of a couple of church things) planned, and on the verge of summer when no one wants to be outside in Florida.  So we spruced up the landscaping.  We cleaned out the old mulch a few weeks ago, and put down new mulch this weekend.  We planted some new plants that will hopefully take root.
We also put in some edging around the flower beds to define the area.  We love the finished look!
This is the other side of the driveway - obviously taken when the sun was going down!
Micah and Liam helped by discovering that they could turn on the water without opening the door to the fence.  Hence, the fireman boots to try and keep his feet dry - or at least his shoes.
Liam wielded a big stick in his supervisory role,
while Micah supervised from his police car, also with a stick.
We worked hard, we did a good job, our yard looks beautiful, and then came the reward.  Towels spread on the floor, and a picnic dinner while watching the animated "Robin Hood".  The menu was a list of the boys' favorites - grilled hot dogs, baked beans, french fries, and applesauce.  Liam was clearly more interested in the food than in the movie, but who can blame him when the food's that yummy?
