Fun with Pumpkins

Micah is such a good sport! My friend Ellen sent around via email a picture of a baby in a pumpkin. I thought it was kind of clever and had fun carving out the pumpkin so Micah could have a seat. At first, he didn't like (well, really, pumpkins are pretty slimy - would you like it?) but then he was fine. Not fine enough to smile, but fine enough to give me a pointed, "Why are you making me do this, Mom?" look. I can't really blame him, but I think it makes for an adorable picture. Oh, and here's a family picture taken at the St. Andrew's UMC pumpkin patch. It was 85ish degrees - so different from the trips to the Trax farm pumpkin patch of my Pennsylvania childhood. I'm glad we can start fun traditions like this with Micah. They're going to be different for him in that maybe going to the pumpkin patch when it's 85 degrees will be normal, and as abnormal as that seems for me, I'm glad that we've started some family traditions this early in his life.
Oh, you also have to dress up to go to the pumpkin patches in Florida. (Or you have to be coming right from church.)
